Updated: November 20, 2020

Due to the continued rise in COVID cases in our region, county and community, Hillsboro Area Hospital will be enforcing a No Visitor Policy, which will start Monday, November 23rd at 7:00 am. The purpose of this policy is to help ensure the safety, health and wellness of our patients, community and team members during the COVID-19 outbreak. There will be exceptions to this policy for special circumstances, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Critical patients undergoing emergency care
  • Patients at end-of-life
  • Patients undergoing emergent surgical procedures are permitted one support person over the age of 18
  • Pediatric patients may have one parent or guardian present as their support person
  • Visitors under the age of 18 will continue to be prohibited, unless they are the parent of a child receiving care
  • Patients reporting for outpatient services (lab draws, x-rays, etc.) should ask their support person to remain in their vehicle for the duration of the hospital visit
  • Other special circumstances will be evaluated on a case by case basis

To check on patients admitted to the hospital, family members may call 217-532-4172. We are also more than happy to assist you in Facetiming your loved one with their permission during this difficult time.
