COVID-19 Updates

Updated: February 3rd, 2021

At Hillsboro Area Hospital, we are working hard to ensure the safety and wellness of our team members, patients, and the community. As a community, we are asking for your help with this.

Along with frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes and staying home when you are sick, we are also asking that you call into our Emergency Department at (217)-532-4199 before coming in for any Coronavirus concerns. This will allow us to perform an over the phone assessment, provide you with guidance and fully prepare for your arrival to the hospital, if necessary.

These steps are designed to reduce the likelihood of community spread of the disease, protect our caregivers, patients, and all vulnerable populations, as well as preserve healthcare resources so that we can maintain our readiness to care for our community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in our efforts to keep everyone as safe and healthy as we possibly can.

Pricing of COVID-19 Diagnostic Testing

In compliance with the Public Health Act (Sec. 3202), please take the time to review the cash price for the diagnostic test for COVID-19. While your health insurance plan will likely cover this lab without cost to you based on current emergency rules, it is important to check with your plan provider for the most accurate pricing information.

COVID-19 Diagnostic Test Cash Price:

  • $150.29 or $257.58, depending on where the test is processed

Note: Other tests and screenings may be ordered and provided at the same time of service, which will affect your total bill, and may not be part of the COVID-19 coverage with your plan, thus co-pays and deductibles may apply.

COVID-19 Temporary Visitor Guidelines

Updated: February 3rd, 2021

In an effort to keep our community and our team members safe, Hillsboro Area Hospital has implemented a Limited Visitor Policy. Our team is working diligently to maintain a safe environment. Our Updated Visitor Policy allows patients to bring one support person to the hospital. Hillsboro Area Hospital strongly recommends that this support person is over the age of 18, however, a younger child will be permitted if necessary. We appreciate your continued cooperation and understanding.
